Genève, June 2008: Frédérique Constant is proud to introduce a new ladies collection that creates emotions ranging from contentment and satisfaction to bliss and intense joy. With its soft and smooth rounded lines, this new collection is designed to delight women around the world. Delight means happiness and that is what is certainly experienced by the passionate women wearing these latest timepiece creations.
The Frédérique Constant Delight® timepieces have a unique new case design, are top quality, Swiss made, in addition to that, ultra feminine.
The slim, ergonomically rounded cases are designed asymmetrically to fit with an angle on a woman’s wrist, increasing comfort and legibility. Frédérique Constant Delight® timepieces radiate sophistication and sensuality. Hand polished and ultra comfortable rounded bracelets are a delight to feel and touch. Each watch is offered simultaneously with bracelet and strap, easily interchangeable with a quick change mechanism.
Finely engraved dials - protected by a convex sapphire crystal - are clean, uncluttered and very legible. The Frédérique Constant Delight® Collection is offered with Roman printed dials in its Classics versions and with small guilloche hearts in its Hearts version. The later has hand-applied polished roman indexes and matching delicately polished hands. The crown is discreetly recessed and is embedded with a genuine sapphire, further reinforcing the femininity of these models.

What has changed with regards to the ladies collection?
Whereas in the past, Frédérique Constant was primarily perceived as a men’s watch brand, over the last years, the feminine side of the brand has also witnessed strong development. We have seen an increased demand for mechanical ladies watches from 25-40 year-old business women. With the mechanical watch manufacturing know-how in the company, it was a logical step to expand the Frédérique Constant ladies collection in this direction. Strong emphasis has been put on all design details. Every aspect of the new ladies watch collections has been studied with passion to reflect the values and aspirations of today’s women.
When did Frédérique Constant start producing ladies watches?
From the very beginning, we had ladies watches in the collection, though they only represented 15-20% of our sales. Many ladies models were smaller versions of best-selling gents models. We understand that in the watch industry, typically over 50% of watches are sold to women - and that this percentage is growing. One of the reasons is that more women are working and have a career of their own. Hence they have more spending power and can decide for themselves how they want to spend their money. This was an opportunity for Frédérique Constant. But the ladies collection needed much more creative attention.
Does this mean that Frédérique Constant is becoming a ladies brand?
No, we are well appreciated as a men’s brand and feel we have a lot of potential to continue to grow the men’s side of the business. Since 2004, every year we launch a new limited edition of the Heart Beat Manufacture. These watches are well received in all markets and achieve strong growth. We just felt that we had left the feminine side underdeveloped. We aim to have a proper ladies share next to successful men’s watches - we aim for a healthy balance between the two.
